Our Education Programme

We believe that all change for the better begins with education. If we are to truly make a difference to the animals of this island, we must begin by talking to the children, who will go on to influence generations to come.

With this in mind, we run an animal welfare education programme in the schools of Koh Lanta, with children ranging in ages from 5 to 10. We talk to them about animals and their needs and explain how they are just like us – they need food, shelter, medical care and love.  We do this through a variety of interactive games and role playing, where all the children get a chance to express themselves and their feelings about animals and their welfare.

The children also visit Lanta Animal Welfare to meet and play with the animals in our care. If you speak fairly good Thai and are interested in volunteering with both animals AND children in Thailand and can dedicate at least 3 months to this project, please contact us at volunteer@lantaanimalwelfare.com
